The technology evolution for kites, wings, and boards has rapidly improved to enhance your experience on the water. However, perhaps the most critical component required to get on the water -the pump- has remained unchanged since the days of flip phones. Not anymore. Gone are the times of struggling with manual pumping, thanks to the Air Box: Ride Engine's rechargeable electric pump. Engineered alongside a top electric pump manufacturer, the Air Box has a powerful two-stage system that automatically switches from low-pressure, high-volume pumping to high-pressure, low-volume delivering the fastest inflation possible.
Eliminate the worry of over or under inflating your gear when you set your desired air pressure on the Air Box. The smart inflation technology has real-time pressure monitoring, ensuring an automatic shut-off once the pump reaches the selected pressure. Powered by a lithium-ion battery cell, it can inflate four to six kites or wings, and three SUPs on a single charge.

On a recent trip to the northwest coast of Peru, I had the opportunity to use and test a Ride Engine Air Box pump. I was traveling with my wife and 4 other friends who were all wing foiling or kiting each day. During the 11 day trip, that lights but mighty pump pumped, on average, 7 wings and or kites each day. The pump is very intuitive to set up and easy to use. I would power the unit on, set the PSI to what my wing recommended, and tap start. The two stage pump would start off in stage one, high volume fill. The digital readout (can be set to PSI or Bar) on the front of the pump would start counting up. At about 0.8 PSA, the pump would automatically switch to stage two, low volume, high pressure fill. One of the many great features of the pump is the auto shutdown. At the exact PSI I set, the pump switches off. This feature allowed me to put on my wetsuit, sunscreen, or help someone with their gear while the wing was being inflated! Another great feature is the universal connection nozzle kit that comes with the pump. This enables the pump to work with all wing, kite and inflatable SUP brands. I could also see using this pump for inflatable air mattress, pool floaties, etc.
Overall, I give this Air Box Pump a 5 star, 10 out of 10 rating. It’s easy to set up, super easy to use and very accurate in its inflation pressure. I highly recommend it and plan to buy one for myself in the next few weeks. This pump helped save all my energy for my session on the water. Thanks Ride Engine!
